I'm so blessed to have had such an awesome year! Let's see...
Skating...This was a year of extreme highs and lows in skating. I skated the worst I've ever skated at the DBNAAI, complete with hard fall followed by about 15 seconds of just skating around looking dumb. I actually got my shoulder x-rayed a few days later, all was well. At Adult Nationals I was skating pretty well until I totally biffed on my final combo spin, silly. I ended the year with a fall and a concussion, that puts a nice cap on 2007. On the other hand I've got a kick ass axel going on (even if I haven't landed on one foot YET) and a pretty consistent camel/back camel combo spin. Sometimes I can even put a back sit on the end of it :) I've even tried a few double salchows! My coach and I put together a new freestlye program which I think will help a lot in the coming season. Oh, and I passed the Pre-Juvenile MIF test, Preliminary FS test and am taking the Juvenile MIF test in January.
Life...Overall I'm pretty lame for a 33 year old single gal but occasionally I know how to live it up. This year I took a 12 day cruise in the Mediterranean which was SAWEET! Not only were the sights spectacular but I met some great people in the singles group that I travelled with (see my other blogs for more info). Shout out to Akron, OH and Woodbridge, VA! Hopefully, we'll all travel together again soon :) I spent my birthday in Chicago with my sister. We went to a Cubs game, watched fireworks at Navy Pier, walked down Michigan Ave and watched (alot of) Gilmore Girls. A good 33rd birthday for sure! I also had some fun at the cabin with friends from work...shout out to the FCS softball team! I saw my first roller derby this year, crazy. GO, Viva La Boom! I spent a weekend in December with my Mom, Sister and Grandma in Chicago. We went to see Jersey Boys, shop at Ikea and walked through the Christmas lights at Lincoln Park Zoo. I also bought a new car, a 2008 Dodge Avenger and I love it! Watching Blades of Glory with the skating gang was definitely a highlight, BOOM! But I have to say that watching DCC was the ultimate in wasting time away.
Work...Not a lot to say here. I work to skate :) Seriously, I like what I do and I like most of the people I work with (especially those that are on myspace!).
Here's to 2008 being just as exciting!
